Dorletta “Dee” Stroh, 77, Dickinson, died Saturday, November 23, 2024 at her home south of Dickinson. Dee’s Liturgy of Word Service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Deacon Ross Reiter presiding. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Ladbury Funeral Service with Rosary at 6 p.m. followed by a Time of Sharing Stories.
Dee Rebsom was born September 17, 1947 in Dickinson, the daughter of Edward R. and Katherine (Leiss) Rebsom. She was raised and educated in Killdeer, having graduated from Killdeer High School. She continued her education at the National College of Business in Rapid City, SD. Dee moved to Denver where she lived and worked for 3 1/2 years before returning to North Dakota.
Dee married David W. Stroh on June 6, 1969 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. She worked for the Badlands Human Service Center and Hurinenko Management Co. She was also self-employed working as a realtor at Century Investors Realty and as an insurance agent with Nodak Mutual Insurance Co.
She belonged to St. Ann’s Altar Society, the Senior Citizens Center, Badlands Art Assoc., Power of 100, St. Anthony Club, Sunset Center-Council, and a former Den Leader of Cub Scouts.
Dee’s pride and joy were her 3 Grandsons, Ethan Stroh, Mason Stroh and Maxwell Stroh. Her hobbies included fishing, photography, reading, playing cards, gardening and drawing/painting. Grandma Dee was her official title at Elmer’s Point. She always had wise words for all of us and kept our Cactus cove family in line. Everyone went out of their way to make sure Grams was well taken care of and entertained. From pontoon rides to hanging out at the beach or on the deck.
Dee is survived by her children, Blane (Leslie) Stroh, Oregon, and Bryan (Sharon) Stroh, Dickinson; three grandchildren, Ethan Stroh, Mason Stroh and Maxwell Stroh; and sister Sandra (Richard) Tuhy, Manning; brother and sister-in-laws, Carol Rebsom, Bill (Delores) Stroh, Chuck (Renea) Stroh, Lyle Kelling, Tim (Sandy) Stroh, Kathy Stroh, Toby (Peggy) Stroh, Pat (Barb) Stroh, Myron Stroh, Zonia (Mark) Schuman and Pam (Jim) Steckler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Stroh, on September 21, 2002; her parents Edward R. and Katherine (Leiss) Rebsom; brothers, John E. Rebsom, Kenneth Rebsom, Alvin Rebsom, Rodger Rebsom, sister, Rita F. Rebsom; brother and sister-in-laws, Don and Donna Kostelecky, Roxan Horacek, Janice Kelling and Rocky Stroh; and in-laws, William and Elizabeth Stroh.
