Zane Michael Krivoruchka was born on October 16, 1994, in Dickinson, North Dakota to Roy and Cheryl (Roller) Krivoruchka. He was raised on the family farm north of South Heart and attended South Heart Public Schools, graduating in 2014.
Starting at a young age Zane always had a passion for the outdoors, and all things on the farm. He had a love for rodeo with his favorite rider being Tuff Hedeman, and 90’s country music, specifically Willie Nelson, Chris LeDoux, and Toby Keith. While attending grade school in South Heart, Zane found a best friend in Wyatt Synnes. In September of 2002 right before his eighth birthday, Zane was diagnosed with brain cancer. After a long and hard two-and-a-half-year battle, he was officially deemed cancer free. In high school Zane was a member of FFA and had special interests in woodworking and his shop classes, he loved his teachers and classmates, and helped with Make-A-Wish and Relay for Life. Upon graduation Zane joined the workforce, he had many jobs. His most recent being working with family, whether it was at the meat shop, helping on the farm, or for his dad’s reclamation company. He was always keeping busy. Zane especially loved the farm tasks, but above all, he loved his chickens and dogs the most. Aside from working he could be found in the shop fabricating his latest project. Whether it be welding or woodworking, he could turn one’s junk into a treasure and would find his next project at a local auction.
Beyond his incredible work ethic, Zane was an amazing son, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved anyone and everyone and his care for those he loved was far beyond what words can describe. He found joy in the small things life had to offer, from tinkering in the shop, hunting and riding around with his brothers, countless hours spent on the road with his mom, to intentionally pissing his dad off to get to get a good chuckle in, he found joy in it all.
Zane had a natural gift with children, but he especially had a gift at being the most wonderful, loving and caring uncle. From the side-by-side rides, to playing in the dirt, and sneaking in as many sweet treats as possible, to just simply playing with the toy cows in the living room, he never missed an opportunity to be around his nephews.
He dealt with far more in his 30 years of life than most in 100 lifetimes combined, and through it all he never complained, and he surely never wanted anyone to worry about him. His faith remained as fierce and steady as his love for a good sweet treat. There was never a time a dessert was passed up or a local auction was missed. He was the most caring and giving individual with his final act of his earthly life being the gift of life to others through organ donation.
Zane is survived by his parents, Roy and Cheryl; brothers, Zachary (Kylie), and Jayden (Laura); nephews, Krew and Dax; grandmother, Cathy Roller; God parents, Kevin (Mindy) Roller and Rita (Gerald) Binstock; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam and Margaret Krivoruchka; grandfather, John Roller; uncle, Lonny Custer, and aunt, Debbie Roller.
