Adrian Kadrmas, 79, Dickinson, died on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Benedictine Living Community, Dickinson. Adrian’s Liturgy of Word Service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding. Entombment will take place at the Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2025, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
Adrian was born on November 28, 1945, in Dickinson, the son of Alphonse and Hattie (Franchuk) Kadrmas. He grew up on a farm northeast of Dickinson and later moved to Dickinson where he resided his entire life.
Adrian was united in marriage to Donna Bruington on October 14, 1967, at St. Edward’s Church in Fayette and to this union five children were born.
He worked for Dakota Flooring, M & H Gas Station, and Carlson Construction where he started shingling. After Carlson he went on to start his own roofing business where he shingled for the next 45 years. Adrian worked alone and carried bundles of shingles up the ladder by himself. His kids would often work with him over the summer. He enjoyed owning his own business and worked hard all his life to provide for his family.
After retiring from shingling, he worked at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church doing maintenance work. In his free time, Adrian enjoyed listening to country music and watching movies.
Adrian is survived by his wife, Donna Kadrmas, Dickinson; children, Tamara (Clint) Schalesky, Dickinson, Tonia (Cory) Fitterer, Bismarck, Wade (Connie) Kadrmas, Bismarck, Shawn (Dawn) Kadrmas, Dickinson, Chris (Aimee) Kadrmas, Bismarck; grandchildren, Jessica Ridl, Michael (Briana) Ridl, Matt Ridl, Zachary Fitterer, Lucas Fitterer, Libby Kadrmas, Mia Kadrmas, Cole Kadrmas, Bryce Kadrmas; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Ridl; step-grandchildren, Kari Schalesky, Shaylyn Schalesky, and Caden Schaleksy; step-great-granddaughter, Kynslee Schalesky; siblings, Evelyn Kadrmas, Bismarck, Verlie Burlingame, Lawerence, KS, Janice (Chuck) Woods, Columbus, MT, Anita (Loren) Johnson, Tacoma, WA, Phyllis Kostelecky, Dickinson, Jeanette (Al) Fisher, Dickinson, Heide Luedtke, Mandan, Conrad Kadrmas, Bismarck, Myron (Gayle) Kadrmas, Dickinson, Curt (Phyllis) Kadrmas, Mayville, and Harvey (Mary Jane) Kadrmas, Bismarck; sister-in-law, Doreen Kadrmas, Bismarck; brother-in-law, Bob Mracek, Breckenridge, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Hattie (Franchuk) Kadrmas; his brother, Alvin Kadrmas; his sisters, Irene Jirges and Grace Mracek; brothers-in-law, Bob Burlingame, Gary Kostelecky, and Chuck Luedtke.
