Wallace Wock, 90, Dickinson, died on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at his home. Wallace’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2025 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Robert Shea as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday.
Wallace was born March 19, 1935 in Dickinson, the son of Michael and Rosemary (Vogel) Wock. He was raised on the family centennial farm, north of South Heart. He attended country school for eight years, and he spent his life working on the family farm and raising cattle (beef and dairy).
Wallace was united in marriage to Virginia “Ginger” Ross from Shoshone, ID on October 16, 1967 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. To this union, eight children were born, Robert, Jason, Charlotte, Lawrence, Jeff, Linda, Rita, and Shawn. Wallace and Virginia moved off the farm into Dickinson in January 2011, where he continued to take interest and participate in the farm operations.
Wallace belonged to Knights of Columbus and Elks, was a 4-H leader, and was a South Heart School Board Member. He enjoyed fishing, collecting John Deere Tractors, working on stationary engines, tinkering on projects in the garage and competing his John Deere Tractors in JD 2 cylinder slow races. He took the greatest pleasure being around his grandchildren, watching their activities and visiting on the phone with them to hear their latest updates.
Wallace is survived by his wife, Virginia; his children, Robert, Dickinson, Jason (Roberta), Dickinson, Charlotte (Rollin) Rueb, Herried, SD, Lawrence (Angie), Eden Prairie, MN, Jeff (LeeAnn), Wayzata, MN, Linda (Brian LaForce) Post, Roseburg, OR, Rita (Tom) Keidel, Mandan, and Shawn “Shorty” (Aubrey), Jamestown; 18 grandchildren; siblings, Jean Schmidt, Dickinson, Regina Schmidt, Belfield, and Willie (Larry) Rafferty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Mike; siblings, Viola, Nick, Polly, Willard, Eileen, Bernadette, Jan, and Mike.
