DeWane G. Schaible, 77, Dickinson, died on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at CHI St. Alexius Dickinson. DeWane’s Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m., August 23, 2025 at Zoar Congregational Church, Mott with Rev. Corey Warner and Pastor Bob Simons as officiants. Inurnment will take place at SunnySlope Cemetery, Mott.
DeWane Glenn Schaible was born June 22, 1948 in Dickinson, the son of Oscar and Emma (Schauer) Schaible. He was educated in Mott, having graduated high school in 1968. DeWane grew up on the family farm near Mott. In early adulthood, he owned his own roofing company later deciding to take the road long-haul trucking. Eventually he made his way closer to home to drive locally until he retired.
DeWane’s favorite place to be was in his boat fishing for walleye. His other pastimes included hunting, gardening, canning, and playing cards. He will always be remembered for his quick humor and ruthless battles of wits with his family.
He attended New Life Pentecostal Church in Dickinson.
DeWane is survived by his children, Anthony “Tony” Schaible and Tessica (Chris) Livermont; six grandchildren, Samantha Schaible, AJ Schaible, Sarah Schaible, Avery Welbig, Shelby Welbig, and Shayla Welbig; siblings, Linda (Ed) Zimmerman, Elgin, Delmar Schaible, Mott, Tim Schaible, LaMoure, and Bev (Ron) Reich, Mott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Emma.
