Anna M. Roll, 99, Dickinson, died on Sunday, September 7, 2025 with family by her side at Missouri Slope-Washington, Bismarck. Anna’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2025  at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson with Msgr. Thomas Richter as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Thursday 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary and Vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Ron Keller presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass on Friday.

Anna Marie Meier was born August 31, 1926 at rural Mott, the daughter of Thomas and Beata (Fitterer) Meier. She attended school in the rural area north of Lemmon, SD.

On September 16, 1946, Anna married Frank Roll of Burt, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lemmon. They farmed north of Burt until the Spring of 1958 when they moved to Dickinson. In Dickinson, they owned a couple service stations and Roll’s Muffler Shop. Anna was the bookkeeper for the businesses, cleaned at motels and the various gas stations that they owned. and also a sacristan at Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking bread, crocheting, and making quilts for her children and grandchildren. Anna loved being a Rosary Leader and being a sacristan at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She also enjoyed the time she resided at Hawks Point.

Anna is survived by her children, Janice (Bruce) Evans, Bismarck, Thomas (Judy) Roll, Richardton, Beatrice Mueller, Cheyenne, WY, Shaun (Karla) Roll, Westminster, CO, and Judy (Monty) Meduna, Longmont, CO; son-in-law, Clayton Heidecker, SD; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Genevieve (Charles) Schwahn, CO; and sisters-in-law, Matilda Meier, WA, and Florene Meier, SD.        

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, October 24, 2010; daughter, Diane Heidecker; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her siblings, Joseph (Anna Mary) Meier, Peter (Josephine) Meier, Jacob Meier, Kasper Meier, Barbara (Jerome) Hoerner, Thomas (Ramona) Meier Jr., Paul (Ellguvene) Meier, and Vyola (Harry) Schaff.
