Clarence “Chuck” Dean Arnold,61, passed peacefully at his home in Oakdale, CA on Friday, July 18, 2025 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Chuck’s Celebration of Life Service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Marshall Lutheran Church, Marshall with Pastor Gideon Johnson as officiant. Inurnment will take place at Kyseth Memorial Cemetery, Dunn County. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a Time of Sharing Stories & Memories at 5 p.m.

Clarence Dean Arnold was born March 13, 1964 in McLaughlin, SD to Clarence “Tex” and Helen (Hertel) Arnold. He grew up on a farm 13 miles NE of McLaughlin with five siblings. Chuck loved to fish and hunt when he was growing up. He worked for several farmers and ranchers around the area. Chuck also worked for an electrician in town as a helper, was on the swim team and rodeoed all his life.

After graduating in 1982, he moved to ND and started construction work and where he met Donna Goetz. They married in June of 1986 in Richardton and for the next 27 years raised three children and ran and operated a handful of businesses and organizations in the Richardton area. Chuck moved to California in the fall of 2013. He had many talents and passions through his years Cowboying, construction, car repair, bus driving, beekeeping, and ranching. His latest passion was golfing and his grandbabies. In February 2024, Chuck was diagnosed with cancer and fought a courageous battle. It was at this time that he went traveling to visit all of his grandbabies, children and putting in the memories.

Chuck is survived by his children, Chris (Annie) Arnold – Denhoff, Austin Arnold – Bismarck, Kaylyn (Hunter) Lundquist – Boiling Springs, NC; grandchildren, Krese, Millie, Roy, Cohen, Carter, Paizley and Barrett; his mother, Helen Arnold; sister, Shelly (Gary) Kinzie; brothers, Todd (Lupe) Arnold and Kevin (LaRay) Arnold; his ex-wife, but good friend, Donna Arnold – Richardton; partner, Linda Hammond; her three sons, Allen (Kali), Austin and Adam Hammond; two grandchildren, Jonah and Jocelyn – Oakdale CA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence “Tex” Arnold; sisters, Laura Arnold and Tina Hull; in-laws, Victor and Bernice Goetz; and several nieces and nephews.
