Gregory Allan Krance was born July 1, 1964 in Dickinson, the son of Anthony “Tony” and Magdalene “Maggie” (Greff) Krance. He was raised and educated in South Heart, having graduated from South Heart High School in 1982.

He went to work for Myron Eberts doing Custom Harvesting. Greg went on to earn his Auctioneering license and went to work with his dad and family. He enjoyed traveling, harvesting, and working construction.

In 2006 Greg married Marsha Schmidt at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, South Heart. They bought and moved to their present ranch in 2011, and it was here where they operated Diamond K Hauling and ranching.

He was a faith filled man who enjoyed saying the rosary. This all started with every Friday night kneeling on the kitchen floor with his family as a child reciting the rosary. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, South Heart Saddle Club, volunteered with the fire department, and was always willing to offer a hand and his abilities to others. Greg also served on the South Heart City Council and the Parish Council at St. Elizabeth’s. He cherished the time spent with his dad just driving around the countryside.

Greg is survived by Marsha and their children, Caleb (Jade) Strecker, Jordan (fiancée Rita) Strecker, and Janessa Schmidt; grandchildren, Kingsley, Blaize, and Briggs; siblings, Brenda (Kevin) Volesky, Jim Krance, Steve Krance, Gordy (Steph) Krance, and Shawn Krance; brother-in-law, Russ (Rhonda) Weber; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Coleen Weber.
