Albert Schwindt, Jr. 88 Dickinson, died Saturday, March 27, 2021 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, with family at his side. Albert’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a rosary and vigil at 6 p.m. with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding.

 

Albert Schwindt, a son of Albert Sr. and Helen (Faiman) Schwindt, was born December 2, 1932 in Dunn County. He attended grade school in Killdeer, New Hradec, and St. Joseph’s School in Dickinson. He was employed at various jobs at a young age and retired from Husky Industries.

 

He married Pauline Bosch on August 27, 1958 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. When health allowed, he enjoyed working with wood, tinkering on vehicles and playing his accordion. He was a great handyman and loved taking short trips to the Black Hills. Deadwood was always a favorite spot to try his luck.

 

Albert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pauline, and their three children, Carla (Gerald) Stephenson, Dickinson, Curt Schwindt (Darcie Johnson), Lincoln, and Paulette (Dale) Hofer, Florence, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Nathan Stephenson, Kayla (Brent) Nelson, and Preston (Morgan) Hofer; four great-grandchildren, Daven Nelson, Erik Nelson, Conrad Hofer and Hawkins Hofer; his brother, Tony Schwindt, Deadwood, SD; two sisters, Betty Kubischta and Darlene (Allan) Praus, both of Dickinson; and many nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Karly Nelson; his parents; infant sister; sister-in-law, Beata Schwindt; brother-in-law, Alex Kubischta; and nephew, Roger Kubischta.
