Acquilinus “Linus” Wanner, 92, Dickinson, died Sunday, August, 25, 2019 surrounded by his family at CHI St. Alexius Dickinson. Linus’ Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Msgr. Thomas Richter as celebrant. Inurnment will take place at the Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Leonard Krebs presiding.

Acquilinus Wanner was born November 24, 1926 in Dickinson, son of John and Ottilia (Sticka) Wanner. He was raised and educated in the Schefield area.

Linus was united in marriage to Mary Kubas on April 6, 1948 at St. Pius Catholic Church, Schefield. They lived in Dickinson where he worked for Dinsdale Service Station for four years, prior to beginning a career with the railroad. He retired as an engineer in the early 1980’s due to health reasons.

He belonged to the Eagles Club, St. Pius Verein and the St. Anthony Club. He loved the outdoors, camping and fishing, spending time with his family, playing cards, traveling and occasional trip to 4 Bears Casino.

Linus is survived by his wife, Mary; two children, Elaine (Dave) Axtman, Fairview, Mont. and Jim (Sue) Wanner, Williston; six grandchildren, Mary Kay Jimison, Jeremy Jimison, Jason (Shauna) Axtman, Colby (Mandy) Wanner, Kristi (Jason) Barkley and Tracy Wanner; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Hilda Wanner and Gloria Wanner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 15 siblings.
