Adam Michael Jennings, 52, Dickinson, died on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at his home after battling cancer for the past nine months. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends from 1 pm. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the DSU Student Center Ball Room, Dickinson.
Adam Michael Jennings was born August 5, 1972 in Renton, WA, the son of Rhonda Jennings. He was raised and educated in Bainbridge Island, WA. He served six years in the US Naval Reserves. He graduated from Eastern Washington University with an AA degree in Sociology in 2001 and earned his MBA in 2012 from the University of Phoenix.
Adam Michael was united in marriage to Kelly Trotter on July 26, 2003 in Mansfield, AR. They lived in Crawford County, AR from 2003 to 2006 where he worked as a juvenile probation officer. They moved to Washington County, AR and served in the same position from 2006 to 2010. He and Kelly returned to Crawford County and continued working as a probation officer from 2011 to 2021. He then spent some time working on a PhD in Criminal Justice. Kelly and he moved to Dickinson in 2023 where he was an Assistant Professor at DSU, teaching Criminal Justice.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his dog, Murphy.
Adam Michael is survived by his wife, Kelly; his mom, Rhonda, WA; mother-in-law, Paula Trotter, AR; sister-in-law, Kimberly (James) Lisenby, TX; and niece and nephew, Allyson and Austin Lisenby.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Stanley Trotter, December 24, 2023.
