Adolph K. “Ed” Krehlik, 75, Dickinson, ND, died Thursday, May 17, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Ed’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Jim Braaten as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding.
Adolph K. Krehlik was born July 30, 1931 in Dickinson, the son of Joseph and Victoria (Kostelecky) Krehlik. He was raised south of Dickinson where he attended the Ash Coulee Country School and completing his education in Dickinson where he received his high school diploma.
Ed married Agnes “Aggie” (Bender) Cripe on July 20, 1968 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson.
Ed worked at construction prior to attending business college where he received a degree in accounting. He moved to Glendive, MT to work as the Plant Manager for Fisher Sand and Gravel. Ed returned to Dickinson to begin a career in accounting and insurance with Bill Wolf and then with New York Life. For four years he also worked as a dispatcher for the Western Oil Company of North America. Ed enjoyed the past 16 years working as a sales rep for the Vernon Company offering specialty advertising products.
Ed loved to stay busy and enjoyed many different activities, woodworking, fishing, hunting, traveling, and playing cards with his grandchildren. He was a Fourth Degree Knight and belonged to the Elks Lodge.
Ed is survived by his wife Aggie; their five children, Debra Mace, Clearwater, FL, Susan Anderson, Moses Lake, WA, currently serving in Afghanistan, Connie Cripe, Clearwater, FL, Jack (Vaune) Cripe, Dickinson, and Todd (Melissa) Krehlik, Dickinson; eight grandchildren, BJ (Sara) Cripe, Aaron Anderson, Codi (Jason) Tomczak, Haylee Cripe, Cristi Cripe, Kelsi Ann Cripe, Ty Krehlik and Justin Krehlik; three great-grandchildren, Jaxon Cripe, Nathaniel Anderson and Eli Anderson; one sister, Frances (Joseph) Fichter, New England, ND; and one brother, Victor (Stephanie) Krehlik, Minot, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Sylvia Pavlicek, Martha Krehlik, Victoria Krehlik and Helen Krehlik, and four brothers, Henry, Joseph, Aloysius and Robert.
