Adrian Luptak, 70, Dickinson, died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at MedCenter One, Bismarck. Adrian’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will take place in the Spring at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m.
Adrian E. Luptak was born November 1, 1940 at Dickinson, the son of Elmer and Veronica (Praus) Luptak. He was raised and educated south of South Heart where he attended country school and then South Heart High School, graduating as Valedictorian of his class in 1958. He then went on to attend the National School of Business in Rapid City, S.D.
Adrian married Caroline Schumacher on October 14, 1961 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church south of Dodge. They made their home in Dickinson and were blessed with five children. Throughout his life he worked in the field of agriculture implements. The last 33 years Adrian was a salesman for Pete’s Auto and Implement, Dickinson, Schmidt Equipment, Dickinson, and most recently for West Plains Implement, Dickinson.
Adrian was very musically talented and had the ability to play several different instruments. He had played over the years for numerous weddings, dances, and Polka Masses. He had belonged to the Elks Sodbuster Band for a number of years. He also had several of his own CD’s of his music made. Adrian enjoyed playing cards, sharing a good joke, wood working, and had a knack for tinkering and solving mechanical problems. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and had a deep faith in his religion.
Adrian also belonged to the German-Hungarian Club, St. Anthony Club, K.C. Club, KC Council 6308, life member of the Elks Club, and the Eagle’s Club.
Adrian is survived by his wife, Carol; their five children, Laurie (Fred) Patrick, Sanford, Mich., Linda (Greg) Huck, Sidney, Neb., Kenan (Lisa) Luptak, Sidney, Neb., Kelan Luptak, Dickinson, and Dean (Tammy) Luptak, Aurora, Colo.; 10 grandchildren, Sarah, Candice and Courtney Patrick, Brandon (Lindsey), Kyle (Leslie) and Mason (special friend-Tasha) Huck, Jade Luptak, and Jarod, Cole and Caleb Luptak; three great-grandchildren, Chase Thurlow-Patrick, Karsyn and Ryder Huck; and two brothers, Ray (Vivian) Luptak, South Heart, and Jerry (Vickie) Luptak, Stanley. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister and brother-in-law, Caroline (Edward) Dukart.
