Agnes A. Rehling, 94, Richardton, died surrounded by her family at the Richardton Health Center, Richardton, on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Agnes’ Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton, with Fr. Thomas Wordekemper, OSB as the celebrant. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Richardton. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Robert Bohn presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Wednesday.
Agnes Amelia Gaab was born April 6, 1930, at Richardton, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Himmelspach) Gaab. She was raised on the family farm south of Richardton. She attended grade school in Taylor and later worked at Fettig’s Locker Plant and Café.
Agnes was united in marriage to Nick Rehling on September 30, 1953, and to this union two children, Sandi and Robert were born. For the next 60 years they worked and lived on the farm before retiring and moving into Richardton.
She loved her chocolates, playing cards, bingo, reading, sewing, crocheting, gardening, and visiting with family and friends.
Agnes is survived by her children, Sandi Jalbert, Richardton, and Robert Rehling, Richardton; three grandchildren, Stacy Simonson, Deanna (Brad) Nelson, and Aftan (David) Damon; five great-grandchildren, Melody, Nicolas and Paige Simonson; Wyatt (Elly) and Ava Nelson; and her sisters, Minnie Schulz, Mandan, and Irene Geck, Glen Ullin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick, on June 21, 2017; her parents; six brothers, three sisters; son-in-law, Dennis Jalbert; and daughter-in-law, Jannita Rehling.
