Agnes Dowhaniuk, 86, Dickinson, died Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. There will be a Private Mass of Christian Burial for Agnes at 10 a.m., Monday, November 23, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Interment will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. There will be public visitation on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

Agnes Heidt was born February 14, 1934 in Stark County near Belfield, the daughter of Ralph and Anna Mary (Dukart) Heidt. She was raised and educated on the farm where she attended country school.

Agnes married Frank Dowhaniuk on October 12, 1954 at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church and to this union three children were born, Darlene, Rodney and Eugene.

Throughout her life she worked at Jack’s and Jefferson Elementary.

She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, St. Anthony Club and German Hungarian Club. Agnes enjoyed bowling, listening to polka and old time music, attending family gatherings and especially spending time with her grandkids.

Agnes is survived by her three children, Darlene Steffan, Bismarck, Eugene (Karen) Dowhaniuk, Dickinson and Rodney (Janel) Dowhaniuk, Dickinson; six grandchildren, Jeremy Steffan, Bradley (Karmen) Steffan, Derek (Jessica) Dowhaniuk, Cole Dowhaniuk, Ryan Dowhaniuk, and Savannah Dowhaniuk; seven great-grandchildren, Henry Steffan, Harlow Steffan, Dax Steffan, Nora Steffan, Blake Steffan, Madilyn Hofer and Mason Hofer; siblings, Clem Heidt, Pauline Pavlicek, Jenny (Albert) Tormaschy, Mary (Curt) Klein, Cathy (Leonard) Tuhy, and Ralph (Diane) Heidt.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, on June 13, 2016; parents; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Heidt; brother-in-law, Albert Pavlicek

The family does request that masks are worn when attending any of their events.
