Agnes Wandler, 88, New England, died on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Western Horizons Living Center, Hettinger. There will be a Liturgy of Word for Agnes at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Fr. Dennis Schafer presiding. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New England. Visitation will be on Friday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a Rosary & Vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Bob Zent presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Agnes Splichal was born January 12, 1937 in Dickinson, the daughter of Anton and Emilie (Kostelecky) Splichal. She was raised and educated in New Hradec, having graduated from Versippi School.
Agnes was united in marriage to Joseph Wandler on June 23, 1958 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson and to this union five sons were born. They moved to New England where they operated a dairy and farmed northwest of New England. In the late 1990’s, they moved into New England and during this time she worked cleaning homes in the New England area.
She love dancing to Polkas and Waltzes, playing the organ, playing cards, baking, and cooking. Agnes especially loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed decorating her home with knickknacks and such!!
Agnes is survived by her sons, Mark Wandler, Belfield, Thomas Wandler, New England, Bob Wandler, Gladstone, and Michael Wandler, New England; grandchildren, Ashley (Joe) Schorsch, Devon Wandler, Abby Wandler, Lindsey (Aaron) Hetzel, Scott (Hannah) Wandler, and Kari Wandler; great-grandchildren, Elloise Schorsch, Eleanor “Ella” Wandler, Ettalyn May Wandler, Brodie Wandler, Colson James Wandler, and Porter Eugene Wandler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Wandler, on April 23, 2023; infant son, Clint Martin Wandler; her parents; siblings and spouses, Wencel “Jim” (Mary), Joe (Christine), Tony (Mary), Vincent (Dorothy), George (Catherine), Steve (Edith), Mary (Robert) Wolberg, Emma (Dick) Sadowsky, Dorothy (Robert) Ficek, and Lillian (Vern) Dobitz.
