Alex Kubischta, 87, Dickinson, died Friday, September 26, 2014, at St. Benedicts Health Center, Dickinson. Alex’s Mass of Christian Burial will at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson with Father Shannon Lucht as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Monday from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Jerry Volk presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church.
Alex was born October 25, 1926 at Hirshville to Henry and Barbara (Kopp) Kubischta. He was raised on the family farm northeast of Dickinson and attended country school. Alex married Betty Schwindt on January 31, 1955 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson and were blessed with four children, Roger, Gary, Donald and Jeanette. He began farming in 1951 and continued to do so until 1978 when he became disabled. Alex and his family then moved to Dickinson.
Alex enjoyed farming, fishing, playing cards, having coffee with his friends, and listening to polka music but time with family was what he cherished most of all. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, a golden member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and a 70 year survivor of diabetes.
Alex is survived by his wife, Betty, Dickinson; three children, Gary, Donald (Tami), and Jeanette (Andy) Fiedler; daughter-in-law, Connie Kubischta all of Dickinson; six grandchildren, Melissa (Jeremy) Witte, Chris (Aaron) Molbert, Mitchell Kubischta, Kole Fiedler, Jessica Kubischta, Shane Kubischta all of Dickinson; four great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Bree Molbert, Jacob and Caleb Witte all of Dickinson; one sister Josephine Schmidt, Belfield; one brother, John Kubischta, Dickinson; one brother-in-law, Richard Fix, Dickinson and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
