Alfred Diede, 88, Richardton, died Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Alfred’s Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the First Baptist Church, Hebron, with Rev. David Ling officiating. Interment will take place at the Antelope Baptist Cemetery, Richardton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Alfred C. Diede was born August 3, 1935 in Richardton, the son of Mike and Bertha (Raaf) Diede. He was raised and educated in the Antelope area.

Alfred married Lorine Hirning on June 19, 1959 at the Congregational Church, Hebron. They made their home on the family ranch where Alfred lived his entire life. Together they raised Charolais cattle and later Angus. Alfred had a special interest in Longhorn cattle and eventually raised a herd of fifty!!

He was the founding member of the Richardton Saddle Club, belonged to the Hebron Saddle Club, and the US Marshals Posse. Alfred had received several recognitions over the years:  Roughrider Rodeo Rancher Award 2013, North Dakota Trapper Hall of Fame 2019, Stark and Billings Soil Conservation District Overall Achievement Award 2021, and North Dakota Stockmen’s Riding for the Brand Recognition as a 65-year member of the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association 2023.

Alfred is survived by his wife, Lorine, Richardton; children, Dale (Kerry), Richardton, Judy (Mark) Hoff, Richardton, and Clint (Heather), Richardton; grandchildren, Dixie (Andy Crosby) Diede, Dillon (Dessa) Diede, Emett (Kristina) Diede, Mollie (Leon) Cradle, Stuart (Danielle) Hoff, Cassidy (fiancé, Seth Barkley) Diede, Coy Diede, Carly (significant other, Lane Chruszch) Diede, Claire (significant other, Colton Krank) Diede, and Colby Diede; great-grandchildren, Eli Cradle, Tristan Cradle, Hayze Diede, and Blake Diede; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Paul (Caroline), Emil (Alice), Irma (Shelby) Tuttle, Raymond (Regina), and Roy (Alice).
