Alfred J. Sadowsky, 83, Dickinson, died Friday, April 29, 2011 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Alfred’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, New Hradec. Visitation will be on Monday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Ron Keller presiding, at Ladbury Funeral Service Dickinson.

Alfred was born January 1, 1928 in Dickinson, the son of Louis V. and Mary (Jablonsky) Sadowsky. He was raised and educated in the New Hradec area and graduated from Model High School in Dickinson with the Class of 1947.

Alfred married Lillian Kovash on October 12, 1949 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He has been a farmer, rancher and a good steward of the land his entire life. He became a resident of the Country House in 2004 and in 2007 became a resident of St. Benedict’s Health Center.

He was a lifetime member of the Catholic Workman, Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and also served on the board for the Farmers Union for 21 years.

Alfred is survived by his wife, Lillian; five children, Tim A. (Patty) Sadowsky, Bowman, Jonathan (LaVonne) Sadowsky, Dickinson, Ann M. (friend– Hank Grinsteinner) Sadowsky, Dickinson, Patricia K. (James) Metzger, Cumming, Ga., and Mary B. Sadowsky, Dickinson; ten grandchildren, Eric (Lisa) Sadowsky, Michael Sadowsky, Joette (Casey) Novotny, Jill Sadowsky, Jesse Sadowsky, Megan Metzger, Ali Metzger, Jamie Metzger, Tyler (Ellen)Schaff, and Karey (Ryan) Eisenbarth; four great-grandchildren; and four siblings, William R. (Pauline) Sadowsky, Bismarck, Bertha Bahley, Dickinson, Raymond (Irene) Sadowsky, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Georgia (Tom) Huschka, Dickinson.

He was preceded in death by his son Mark; his parents; two infant brothers; brother-in-law, Robert Bahley; two nieces, Kelly Huschka and Arlys Bahley; and one great-grandchild, Peyton Eisenbarth.
