Alice Olheiser, 84, Dickinson, died Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at her home. Alice’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. Keith Streifel as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary and vigil at 6 p.m. with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding. Visitation will be continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Alice Dassinger was born July 24, 1935 in Hettinger County, the daughter of John and Susie (Lampl) Dassinger. She was raised and educated in the Lefor area.
Alice was united in marriage to Tony Olheiser on June 19, 1957 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, Lefor. They made their home in Dickinson where she had worked for St. Benedict’s Nursing Home, did childcare and more recently at St. Luke’s Nursing Home as a cook where everything was prepared from scratch and she was well known for her German cooking. She retired from St. Luke’s in 1990.
She dedicated her life to her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, gardening, playing slot machines, playing cards, yahtzee and bingo.
Alice is survived by three daughters, Cindy (Tom) Steffes, Gail (Kim) Rohr and Kristi (Joe) Krebs, all of Dickinson; eight grandchildren, Brad (Kelly) Steffes, Terry (Cassie) Steffes, Kelsey (Justin) Kuylen, Kassy (Dustin) Hondl, Dusty Raasch, Jaden Krebs, Brandon Krebs and Shayla Krebs; ten and one half great-grandchildren; siblings, Delores Reisenauer, Bismarck and Charles Dassinger, South Heart; brother-in-law, Harlan Heinle; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Joe and Florence Dawang, Flora Barnett, Marcy Dennis, Vicki Keller, Nina and Steve Shanabarger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony, on May 23, 1994; her parents; her brother, Johnny; sister, Alvina Heinle; brother-in-law, Walter Reisenauer; sister-in-law, Dorothy Dassinger; and special friend, Ben Wolbaum.
