Alice Rierson, 84, Dickinson, died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Alice’s funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Ron Keller presiding. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Alice M. Goldade was born May 20, 1931 at Selz, the daughter of Peter and Magdelena (Lesmeister) Goldade. She was raised and educated near Selz on the family farm, where she would ride her horse over to the neighbors to babysit. Her marriage to Clinton Rierson was on January 10, 1952 in Montana.
Alice and her family made Gladstone their home in 1958, and eventually moving to Dickinson in 1981. Throughout her life she had worked as a waitress, maid, and providing babysitting. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. Working in her garden, playing cards, games, listening to music, along with yodeling and singing, and watching TV brought her much enjoyment. She will be remembered by her family as a very good cook and baker.
Alice is survived by her three children, Judy Harrington, Dickinson, David Rierson, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Cynthia (Charles) Tully, Piedmont, S.D.; five grandchildren, Doug (Wendy Torno) Harrington, Scott (Nikkie) Harrington, Denny Harrington, Robert (Barbara) Rierson, and Bruce Slavick; four great-grandchildren, Tionna and Xayden Harrington, Keria Harrington, and Vaya Ferryman; one great-great-granddaughter, Willow Ferryman; and five siblings, Lorraine Graf, Bismarck, Mariann (Clayton) Timpke, Union Gap, Wash., Irene Gefroh, Yakima, Wash., Sally Sexton, Kennewick, Wash., and Richard (Marilyn) Goldade, Minot.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Adeline Grossman and Angie Brindle; brothers, Leo, Henry and Joseph Goldade; son, Gary Rierson; great-granddaughters, Kimberly Rierson and Jocelyn Harrington; son-in-law, James Harrington; brothers-in-law, Wendeline Grossman, Charles Brindle, Leo Gefroh, Alton Graf, and Gordon Sexton; and several aunts and uncles.
