After graduating from high school and attending business school for a short time, Alice worked for Brach’s Candy Co. Alice met Robert Smith, an Army Air Corp soldier stationed in Chicago. Alice and Robert were married on November 2, 1945 at Dunn Center. Together they made their home at the Smith farm in Dunn County. Alice reluctantly left the farm 11 years ago and moved into the Evergreen, which she grew to love and in April 2013 she moved to St. Benedict’s Health Center.
