Date of Funeral

Allen Michael Kolling, 66, completed his journey in this life and embraced the love of his savior and family, beginning a new life, on Thursday, November 30, 2023. He died peacefully surrounded by his family, whom he loved and who loved him. Allen’s Celebration of Life Service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Inurnment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Allen was born on October 10, 1957 to Joseph G. and Anna E. (Riesinger) Kolling in Dickinson.  Allen was the fourteenth child in a family of sixteen. Could it have been his birth order or was it his calling to be a “giver”? Allen would give until he had nothing left to give. This did not always work out in his favor, however, he never judged the iniquities or needs of others.  He gave love and devotion without reserve.

Allen was a born again Christian and embraced his faith and church family. He spent his life in the service of others. He went on missionary trips to Israel, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica where he would do community service, bring prayer to the villages, cook and help with the children.  He was active in his church leading bible studies and cooking. He especially enjoyed children’s ministries.

Allen was a massage therapist and provided additional service and healing to those in pain through the work of his hands. He owned and operated Corner Stone Massage in Mandan, North Dakota.

Allen is survived by four sisters, Julie (Frank) Hatzenbuhler, Eleanor Dietrick, Audrey (Tim) Kelsey, and Pamela Kolling; five brothers, Francis, Lester, Elmer, Michael (Connie), and Keith.  He is also survived by his church family and many, many nieces and nephews.

Allen was preceded in death by his father, Joseph G. Kolling; mother, Anna E. (Riesinger) Kolling; three sisters, Liz Joslyn, Sharleen Kolling, and Deborah Rivers; three brothers Clarence, George, and Jerry; two sisters-in-law, Alice (Greff) Kolling and Marlene (Haas) Kolling, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Allen would not want you to weep in sorrow; he would say “rejoice for I am free at last in the arms of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through whom all blessings flow.”
