Alvin Ambrose Kuntz, 59, South Heart, died peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Sanford Health, Bismarck, with family at his side. Alvin’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, South Heart, with Fr. William Ruelle as the celebrant. Inurnment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Alvin was raised on the family farm and attended the South Heart School District before enlisting in the United States Navy. Upon an honorable discharge from the Navy, he returned to the family farm to help his parents.

Alvin’s true passion was working on the farm, you could always find him on the tractors working the fields.

During his battle with cancer he truly enjoyed working in his beautiful vegetable garden in which he took great pride. For the past two years Alvin fought a courageous battle with cancer.

Alvin is survived by his children, Joshua (Mandy) Hutmacher and Dominic Williams; a grandson, Bode; and a granddaughter Zeppelyn. He is also survived by his parents, August and Florence Kuntz; siblings, Leila (Stan) Bartel, Leon (Marlene), Kevin (Kris), Keith, Nancy (Don) Bezdicek, Karol (Todd) Wandler, Thomas (Melissa), Vernon (Tavia), Juli (Brant) Wardner, and Sarah (Derek) Onofrio. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melonie Lynn.
