Anita L. Trzynka, 72, Dickinson, died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at her home. Anita’s Memorial Service will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2010 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with Rev. Lisa Lewton officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Anita Williams was born May 30, 1938 in Chicago, Ill. The daughter of Wilfred and Lee Williams. She was raised and educated in Sioux Falls, S.D., and graduated from Augustana College. She played violin in the Sioux Falls Orchestra. Taught elementary music and orchestra in Clear Lake, S.D., West Fargo, and Grinell, Iowa. She also taught orchestra at Hagen Junior High School in Dickinson.

Anita met her husband Terry Trzynka, while attending Northern Colorado University, where she earned a Master’s Degree in music. Together they raised two children, Aaron and Ruth. They also owned Britton Jewelers, Ltd and were in business for over 30 years. Upon retirement, Anita enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, Jaxen and Ivan Werne. She also continued her relationship with music by playing in string trios and quartets, as well as participating in local orchestral productions. She was a talented stained glass artist and seamstress, and filled her spare moments delving into her garden and into books about European History. Her family and friends miss her terribly and will do so for many years to come.

Anita is survived by her husband, Terry; son, Aaron (Elaine) Trzynka, Cheyenne, Wyo.; daughter, Ruth (Joe) Werne, Duluth, Minn.; grandsons, Jaxen and Ivan Werne; three sisters, Joyce Quam, Sioux Falls, S.D., Wilma (Lynn) Hunt, Melbourne, Flo., and Susan Knox, Burnsville, Minn.; and one brother, James Williams, Sioux Falls, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Wilfred Williams; sister, Paula Young; and brother, Wayne Williams.
