Anna Helen Binstock was born September 27, 1916 to Frank and Rose (Faiman) Binstock on the family farm in Dunn County. She grew up and attended school through the fourth grade in New Hradec, having been able to speak and write fluently three different languages.

Anna met Anton Bren at a wedding dance and the two were married July 7, 1936 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. They farmed in the New Hradec area until 1960 at which time they moved into town. Anna worked hard while they lived on the farm and raised her family. She worked as the school cook and janitor for Sts. Peter & Paul school and church for a brief time. She became a resident of St. Benedict’s Health Center in August 2004.

Anna belonged to the Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, embroidering, crocheting and cooking for her family. Most of all she loved sharing her scrapbook when anyone came to visit, and especially taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. You never saw her happier than when the children came to visit. She always made sure everyone was well taken care of.

Anna is survived by her three children, Mary Ann Krehlik, Dickinson, Raymond J. (Kathie) Bren, New Hradec, and Irene (Gary) Howard, Minot; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Minnie Roller and Justine Wanner, Dickinson, and Veronica Billman, Billings, Mont.; and one sister-in-law, Mildred Binstock, Fargo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony on March 4, 2006; her parents; infant son, Donald; granddaughter, Lori Ann Dvorak; brothers, Albert and Anton; infant brother, Edward; sisters, Christine Wanner, Helen Roller and Rose Stockert; and son-in-law, Vince Krehlik, Jr.
