Visitation will be Wednesday, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Tony was born on September 30, 1930 on the family farm near Amidon to John and Regina (Staudinger) Stockert and was the 11th of 12 children. He completed the eighth grade, worked on the family farm, and played fiddle in a local country band. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served as a mechanic for the medics during the Korean Conflict.

He returned home and married Agnes Dvorak on February 23, 1954. For the first six years of their marriage, Tony farmed in Dunn County after which they moved to Dickinson for two years and worked for the Cargill Grainery. They then moved to Sacramento, Calif. and he worked on chain link fencing with his brother, George. During this time Tony and Agnes had six children. In 1968, they returned to Dickinson where Tony subsequently worked for Fisher Sand and Gravel and for oil field workover companies. He enjoyed gardening, playing pinochle, dancing polkas, and spending time with family and friends.

Tony was a great host, enjoying the company of guests, both family and friends at his home. One of his greatest joys was providing entertainment for his grandchildren from driving them around on his golf cart to camping and boating on the lake with the entire family. He was there to lend a helping hand to all of his children on any projects including painting houses, building barns, replacing siding, helping with construction and tiling projects.

Tony and Agnes were married for 64 years and remained devoted to each other through raising six children, moves, job changes, and everyday life challenges. Tony remained cheerfully and consistently helpful to Agnes, even when multiple grocery runs were required in a day, and also during her health challenges in later life. She was always his primary concern and first thought even above his own needs.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes; six children, Timothy (Janette) Stockert, Duvall, Wash., Duane (Sandy) Stockert, Dickinson, Audrey (Kevin) Kerner, Menoken, Bonnie (Francis) Sickler, Duluth, Minn., Tammie (Terry) Herauf, Brighton, Colo., and Scott Stockert, West Fargo; and 18 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and two expected in August. He was preceded in death by his parents; and all eleven siblings.
