Anton V. Tuhy, 93, Dickinson, died Tuesday, December 29, 2015 with family by his side at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dickinson. Anton’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Shannon Lucht as the celebrant. Interment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Military honors will be provided by the Dickinson honors Team. Visitation will be on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Bob Zent presiding.

Anton V. Tuhy was born September 16, 1922, on the family farm near Manning, the son of Joseph and Mary (Opel) Tuhy. He was raised and educated in the Manning area. Anton served honorably in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946.

Anton was united in marriage to Julia F. Rambousek on October 30, 1944, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec. Together they farmed northwest of Dickinson. Anton’s true passion was farming. He did cherish the time spent with his grandchildren.

Anton is survived by his children, Raymond A. (Cathy) Tuhy, Missoula, Mont., Clarence A. (Donna) Tuhy, Dickinson, and Darlene M. (Joe) Billman, Dickinson; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Hattie Trinka, Oregon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia, on March 6, 2012; his parents; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; five brothers; and five sisters.
