April Hammond, 52, Dickinson, died Saturday, June 4, 2011 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. April’s memorial service will be at 6 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2011 at Ladbury Funeral Service with Pastor Larry Phalen officiating, inurnment will be Saturday at Beach. Visitation will be Friday, June 24, 2011 from 5 p.m. until service time.
April Hammond was born April 3, 1959 at Glendive, Mont. to Rienzi and Jean (Morris) Hammond. After graduating from Dickinson High School April began working for Happy Joes Pizza, a job she held for over 20 years, she also volunteered at ARC Thrift store. April enjoyed playing tambourine for church services, knitting, word puzzles, dancing, and bowling. She was an active participant in Special Olympics.
April is survived by one brother, Ed (Cheryl) Hammond, Golva; two sisters, Mary (Mitchell) Berry, Newport News, Va. and Rhonda (Randy) Porter, Elko, Nev. as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother. April had many friends from Dickinson and Hettinger that were dear to her and blessed her life in many ways.
