Armella Chruszch, 80, Belfield, died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Armella’s Parastas will be at 10 a.m., Monday, March 29, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Belfield with Fr. Taras Miles as celebrant and assisted by Deacon Leonard Kordonowy. Interment will take place at St. John’s Ukrainian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a rosary and time of sharing at 3 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
Armella Gregory was born February 7, 1930 in Belfield, the daughter of John A. and Anna (Anheluk) Gregory. She was raised and educated in the Gorham area and also attended Model High in Dickinson.
Armella married Paul Chruszch on June 5, 1947 at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church at Ukrainia. Together they farmed north of Belfield in Billings County and in 1965 moved into Belfield where they continued to farm and also operate an electrical contracting business. Due to health reasons, Armella became a resident of St. Benedict’s Health Center in August of 2000.
Armella and Paul were founding members of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Ladies Society and had also been a leader in the 4-H.
Armella was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandma to her husband, Paul; their three children, Connie (Andy) Huschka, Cypress, Calif., Cheryl (Frank) Petykowski, Ostego, Minn., and Bob (Corinne) Chruszch, Belfield; five grandchildren, Melissa (Mark) Peterson, Clinton (Amy) Nameniuk, Caleb, Lane and Dokia Chruszch; five great-grandchildren, Hannah, Collin and Hailey Nameniuk, Maisey and Marshall Peterson; and her sister-in-law, JoAnn Gregory, Chandler, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers and one sister-in-law, LaVerne and Raymond (JoAnn) Gregory. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. Mary’s Ladies Society at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church.
