Arnold A. “Butch” Gresz, 74, Fairfield died Friday, March 22, 2019 at CHI St. Alexius, Bismarck. Arnold’s funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Rev. Mike Pretzer officiating. Interment will take place at the Belfield Lutheran Cemetery later this spring. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service and will continue on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to service time.

Arnold A. Gresz was born April 8, 1944 in Dickinson the son of Frank and Amy (Johnson) Gresz. He was raised in the Fairfield area and attended school in Belfield. While in school he participated in 4-H where he also traveled to Chicago.

Butch ranched his entire life on the home place and had taken over the Hereford herd from his dad. He enjoyed riding horse or his little Kawasaki cycle to the pastures to check cattle.

Butch is survived by his sisters, Bonnie Buckman, Belfield, and Gloria Gresz, Dickinson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norvella Solberg; brothers-in-law, Tom Solberg and Lewis Buckman; and nephews, Keith and Jim Solberg.
