Arnold “Arnie” Kubischta, 61, Dickinson, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at his home. Arnie’s Vigil will be at 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Ron Keller presiding. Inurnment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson.
Arnold Kubischta was born August 13, 1958 in Dickinson, the son of George and Martha (Ficek) Kubischta. He was raised and educated in Dickinson, having graduated from Trinity High School in 1976. Arnie was united in marriage to Cheryl Friedt on August 7, 1980 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson.
He worked various jobs over the years including: oil rigs in Wyoming, heating and air jobs for Cenex and Temp Right and also in worked in Oregon doing heating and air. He had recently retired in 2020 after having worked several years for the Dickinson Press.
Arnie enjoyed going to casinos, fishing, stripping wire, watching movies, playing cards and coin collecting. He enjoyed watching the fireworks on the 4th of July as they would explode in the sky and paint the night with brilliant colors. It was his favorite holiday.
Arnie is survived by his son, Brent (Kim) Kubischta, Dickinson; two grandchildren, Morgan Kubischta and Dawson Kubischta; siblings, Louise (Al) Powers, Oconto, Wis., Ron (Robbee) Kubischta, Westminster, Colo., Kathy (Gene) Kinzel, Dickinson, and Rose (Tom) Kuntz, Dickinson; aunts and uncles, Paul Ficek, Bill Kubischta, Mary Kainz, and Margie Kubischta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Kubischta, on July 28, 1988; his parents; and in-laws, Michael and Frances Friedt.
