Arnold E. “Arnie” Dutchak, 64, Belfield, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at his home. Arnie’s Parastas will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Belfield, with Fr. Taras Miles presiding. Interment will follow at St. John Ukrainian Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Belfield American Legion William C. Blair Post #144. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Arnold Edward Dutchak was born to George and Elizabeth (Maslowski) Dutchak at Dickinson, on October 24, 1946. Arnie attended school in Belfield, graduating from Belfield High School in 1964. Following graduation he was inducted into the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1968.

Arnie returned home to the family farm and worked the farm for a year prior to heading to South Dakota to work in the goldmines. He returned home to farm and also begin a 30 year career in the oil fields working on the drilling rigs. Arnie continued with the farming up until the time of his death.

Arnie enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brothers and nephews when he got a chance to do so. He was an avid basketball fan and went to as many games he could at Belfield High School and D.S.U. His nephews and nieces were very special to him as were his neighbors, Albert and Mildred Berdahl, and good friend, Sy Kanski.

Arnie is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Dutchak, Belfield; three brothers, Sebastian (Linda) Dutchak, Belfield, Terry Dutchak, Newcastle, Wyo., and Clem (Marilyn) Dutchak, Belfield; four sisters, Georgiana (Jim) Fischer, Billings, Mont., Marcy (Gary) Haworth, Billings, Mont., Rosemary Hurt, Dickinson, and Paulette Dutchak, Belfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, George; and his nephew Justin Matteson.
