Arthur E. Malkowski, 71, Belfield, died Friday, July 7, 2017 at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. A Gathering of Friends & Family will be on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Military honors will be provided by the Belfield American Legion, William C. Blair Post 144, at 4 p.m. Inurnment for Art will be on Thursday at 1 p.m. MDT at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Arthur Emil Malkowski was born April 9, 1946 in Dickinson, son of Michael and Anna (Demianew) Malkowski. Art was raised and educated in Belfield, graduating from Belfield High School in 1964. He joined the United States Army and served Honorably from October 6, 1966 to September 25, 1968. Art returned to Belfield and began a career in farming north of Belfield.
Art was united in marriage to Cheryl Hovland Jensen on April 27, 1991 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Powers Lake. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed shooting pool.
Art is survived by his wife Cheryl; step-son, Alan Jensen, New Town, sister-in-law, Elsie Malkowski, Dickinson; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tilman (Kay) Hovland, Rugby, Royal (Faye) Hovland, Powers Lake and Beverly (Rodney) Hudson, Eau Claire, Wis. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Raymond.
