Arthur Hoff, 79, formerly of the Temvik and Linton area, died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at his home in Dickinson. There will be a private family service held at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Inurnment will take place at the Temvik Cemetery.

Arthur Hoff was born March 24, 1931 on the farm near Linton, the son of John and Lydia (Stock) Hoff. Following his schooling in the Omio District, he served honorably in the United States Army.

Arthur married Betty Wudtke on September 22, 1956 at the Linton Methodist Church. They farmed until their retirement in 1981, lived in Linton for a period of time prior to moving to Dickinson in 2003. Arthur enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, fixing old radios, mechanical work, playing baseball and horseback riding.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Betty, Dickinson; their three daughters, Diana (William) Kightlinger, St. Paul, Minn., Debra (Dale) Christopherson, Grand Forks, and Betty Gianunzio, Dickinson; four grandchildren, William, Jr. and Heather Kightlinger, Alyssa Christopherson, and Mark Steven Gianunzio; and three siblings, Ted Hoff, Linton, Emma Wudtke, Lenexa, Kan., and Ruth (Elmer) Karjalienen, Aberdeen, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Emil and Albert; and sisters, Freida, Albine and Louise.
