Audrey Torgerson, 88, formerly of Williston, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. Audrey’s funeral service will be at 11 a.m., CT Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the First Lutheran Church, Williston, with Rev. Liz Dieseth officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverview Cemetery, Williston. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service, with a prayer service at 5 p.m., with Rev. Steve Schou officiating. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Audrey M. Johnson was born October 4, 1923 at Galesburg, the daughter of Anges and Mable (Skostad) Johnson. She was raised and educated in Grandin, graduating from Grandin High School in 1941. She went on to attended business school in Fargo, graduating in 1943.

She worked as a bookkeeper for MDU and had also worked as a salesclerk for Krause Drug in Williston. Audrey was united in marriage to Robert A. “Bob” Torgerson on August 6, 1957 at First Lutheran Church, Williston. In 1958 she became a “full time” housewife and mother, raising seven children, and will be always be remembered as a loving mother.

Bob and Audrey in later years would winter in Tucson, Ariz., and spend their summers in Big Fork, Mont. In 2004, a couple of years following her husbands death, she moved to Dickinson to be close to daughter Kathy, where she resided at Park Avenue Villa, Hawks Point and St. Luke’s Home. She belonged to the Eastern Star, Elks, and Campfire Girls. She loved to play bridge, go bowling, crocheting and hardanger, word seek puzzles and especially loved to dance.

Audrey is survived by six children, DCheris Meek, Vancouver, Wash., Robert K. Torgerson, Henderson, Nev., Thomas (Loretta) Torgerson, Norman, Okla., Richard (Sharon) Torgerson, Graham, Wash., Kathy (Bob) Carroll, Norman, Okla., and Kathy (John) Wegleitner, Dickinson; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, JoAnne Watson, Cloverdale, Ore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob on December 4, 2001; daughter, Darlene Morud; brothers, Elroy Johnson and Curt Johnson; and sisters, Laurie Luptan and Vonnie Hellwege.
