Bernhardt “Bernie” Patrick Friesz, 66, Dickinson, died on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at CHI St. Alexius Dickinson. Bernie’s Liturgy of Word Service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Deacon Keller presiding. Military Honors will be provided by the Dickinson American Legion Post 3 Honor Guard. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson.

Bernhardt Patrick Friesz was born March 17, 1958, in Dickinson, the son of Frank E. and Margaret (Jacob) Friesz. He was raised and educated in Dickinson where he graduated from Dickinson High School in 1977. Bernie joined the United States Army on November 2, 1977, and due to a medical condition, he received an Honorable discharge.

After a couple of years in Watertown, SD, he made Dickinson his home. Throughout his life he worked at various jobs which included:  Dinsdale Service Station, Pioneer Haven, Heiser Motors, Floor to Ceiling, and Rosie’s Food and Gas.

He enjoyed bowling, hunting, and fishing in his spare time.

Bernie is survived by his son, Travis Kiefer, St. Paul, MN; sister, Cathy (Guy) Tessier, Belfield; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Verlie (Merv) Lennick; and nephew, Eugene Lennick.
