Bernice M. Kuhn, Bismarck, formerly of the Lefor area, died peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Sanford Health, Bismarck surrounded by her family. Bernice’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, south of Richardton, with Fr. Thomas Wordekemper, OSB as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue at the church one hour prior to services. There will be a rosary at 7 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Bernice M. Geiger was born April 27, 1942 at Dickinson, the daughter of Henry and Catherine (Wolbaum) Geiger. She was raised and educated in Dickinson, having attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and graduating from Dickinson High School.

Bernice was united in marriage to Carl Kuhn on September 11, 1962 in Dickinson. They moved to Montana and later returned to North Dakota where they purchased land near Lefor. Here it was that they raised their family and farmed for the next 32 years, loving every moment of it.

Carl and Bernice moved to Bismarck in 2011, and Carl died on April 15, 2013. Bernice was a dedicated mother and grandmother. Family was a big part of her life. She enjoyed cooking for her family, crocheting and sewing. She always enjoyed her visits with whomever stopped in. Bernice always put her family before herself.

Bernice is survived by her seven children, Stacey (Teresa) Kuhn, Meridian, Miss., Russell (Darla) Kuhn, Lefor, Jason Kuhn, Gladstone, Scott (Christine) Kuhn, Billings, Mont., Daniel (Danette) Kuhn, Taylor, Carla (Derrick) Forster, Bismarck, Ashley (Jesse) Hecker, Dickinson; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathy Dennis, Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Alvin Geiger, Phoenix, Ariz.; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents, three brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to St. Stephen’s Catholic Church.
