Bertha Ann Lanphear, 67, Dickinson formerly of Lewistown, Mont., died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Vibra Heath Care, Mandan. Bertha’s Service of Remembrance will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Pastor Jerry Sevier officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Bertha Ann Fjeldseth was born October 30, 1946 at Mobridge, S.D., the daughter of Albert and Ida (Finkbinder) Fjeldseth. She was raised and educated in South Dakota, graduating from Mobridge High School in 1964.

Bertha married Dennis Lanphear on April 9, 1967 at Pierre, S.D. They spent a couple of years in Killeen, Texas while Dennis served in the military. Following his discharge they returned to Mobridge. In 1971 the family moved to Montana and spent four years in the Terry and Forsyth areas. Moving to Calder, Idaho and spending five years there prior to making their home in Lewistown, Mont.

She worked at Paris Laundry and Dry Cleaning from 1981 to her retirement in 2002. Her husband Dennis died on December 16, 2003. Bertha remained in Lewistown until her diagnosis of cancer in February 2013, at which time she moved to Dickinson to live with her daughter and son.

Bertha is survived by three children, Timothy (Lisa) Fjeldseth, Boulder, Mont., Tammy Chamberlain, Dickinson, and Terry Lanphear, Dickinson; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan) Solberg, Mathew (Molly) Fjeldseth, Candice (Tyler) Christensen, Zakkary Fjeldseth, Brittney Chamberlain, Kathrine Fjeldseth, Nathan Lanphear, Breanna Chamberlain, and Dakota Lanphear; two great-grandchildren, Ashlie Radtke, and Thor Solberg; and four siblings, Esther (Claude) Hahne, Trail City, S.D., Betty Holzer, Mobridge, LaVonne Stafford, Mobridge, and Wanda (Alvin) Alcorn, Mobridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; daughter, Tabitha Lanphear; granddaughter, Ashlie Chamberlain; sister, Peggy Schily; and brother-in-law, Jim Holzer.
