Beverly Erickson, daughter of Albert and Cora (Dahlhaug) Erickson, was born on August 9, 1937 near Amidon. She was raised in Bowman and Tower City, and graduated from Bowman High School. Beverly married Russel Davis Alexander on June 21, 1957 in Amidon. In the years to follow, Beverly worked as a waitress at the City Café and later spent time employed at the Shamrock Bar and Town and Country liquor store, Dickinson, prior to becoming a full time stay-at-home mother and grandmother.

Beverly, also known as “Beefie” by her family, friends and relatives, loved camping with her family, and she greatly enjoyed gardening and canning. She occasionally joined in on a game of cards or trip to the casino, but her main passion was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her home was a welcome place for family and visitors, as she always made time for a cup of coffee and conversation.

Beverly was very well known for her cooking and baking, with her buns, caramel rolls, and chocolate chip bars being the most requested items on her menu. Beverly adored her special “baby”, her cat Josie, that blessed her abundantly during the years of battling Alzheimer’s. She also truly loved music all her life; it captivated and entertained her even into her final days on earth. She attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dickinson and was a former member of the St. Anthony Club.

Beverly is survived by her four children, Wanda (Bob) Klym, Dickinson, Randy (Raylene) Alexander, Bismarck, Diane (Jayson) Rath, Bismarck and Brian (Julie) Alexander, Dickinson; one sister, JoAnn (Doyle) Sanders, Oak Grove, La.; eight grandchildren, Amber (Jacob) Fortney, Brandi Trauman, Kodi (Brad) Auch, Alex Klym, Danielle (Joshua) Seil, Emily (Joel) Brown, KeAnna Alexander and John Rath; and great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Dayvah Beverly Fortney, Brielle and Noah Seil, Ella and Ivy Auch, and Breckyn Brown.
