Blanche B. Payne, 85, Dickinson, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson. In honoring Blanche’s wishes there will be no services held and that her body will be donated to the UND Deeded Body Program for anatomical studies.
Blanche B. Svihl was born November 24, 1925 in Dickinson the daughter of Frank and Agnes (Pirkl) Svihl. She was raised and educated in the Versippi area east of Dickinson.
Blanche married Derald A. Payne in Reno, Nev., on November 5, 1968. She had worked as a waitress in various locations throughout her life. Blanche was an avid bowler, enjoyed working with and helping others, and loved to travel with Dick.
Blanche is survived by her husband, Derald “Dick”; three brothers, Roland (Yvonne) Svihl, New Hradec, Ben (Betty) Svihl, Dickinson, and Gordon (Shirley) Svihl, Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Emma (Louis) Kadrmas, Lillian Svihl, Mildred (Andrew) Binstock, Betty (C.F.) Hatzenbuhler, and Dorothy Svihl; and brothers, Albert, Henry, Charles and George Svihl.
