Bonnie D. Schaper, 87, Dickinson, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Bonnie’s funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with Michael Wolters officiating. Inurnment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 2 p.m., MDT. Visitation will be on Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Bonnie D. Dustin was born September 1, 1923 in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of John C. and Olive M. (Roberts) Dustin. Her family moved to Nebraska, Texas, Oregon and North Dakota as she was growing up and she graduated from high school in Bellevue, Neb. Bonnie went on to attend the University of Nebraska where she earned a BS Degree in Business and Accounting.

Bonnie married Edward Schaper on December 9, 1950 in Bismarck. She worked as a civilian employee at Offutt Field assisting the Army Air Corp during WWII with runway clearance. Bonnie then worked as an auditor for the North Dakota Insurance Commissioner office, as an accountant/tax specialist for JS Graham, CPA, and a was self employed tax accountant.

Bonnie belonged to the Eastern Star, Endevoror Rebecah, was a mother advisor with the Rainbow Girls, was State President of the North Dakota PTA, St. Cecelia, homemakers club, and State President of Rebecah. She was an avid reader, participated in the Amateur Radio Club, and was an amateur rock hound.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Edward; her son, John (Janice) Schaper, Dickinson; and two grandchildren, Michael Schaper and Sarah Schaper. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, J.Cameron Dustin and Daniel S. Dustin.
