Bonnie G. Olheiser, 59, Dickinson, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at her home. Bonnie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, June 4, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.

Bonnie G. Skogen was born September 27, 1950 in Louisville, Ky., the daughter of Mary House and Ray Quamme. She was raised and educated in Hettinger.

Bonnie married Ronald H. Olheiser on April 18, 1970, to this union four children were born, Gayle, Rhonda, Keith and Chad. After her children were grown she decided to further her education. She graduated from Dickinson State University with a degree in nursing.

Bonnie’s passion in her life was to take care of people. Her children and grandchildren brought her great joy. Bonnie became paralyzed in 1999, which never slowed her down. It drove her to become an advocate to help other disabled people to gain their independence. Bonnie endured many obstacles in her life, her biggest struggle was watching her son Keith circum to cancer in 2005.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Ronald; her children, Gayle (Scott) Just, Bismarck, Rhonda (Jim) Etzel, Dickinson, and Chad (Tara) Olheiser, Mandan; her daughter-in-law, Amy Olheiser, Dickinson; seven grandchildren, Amber, Brittany and Colton Just, Dion and Deanna Makowski, Alley Olheiser, and Jace Olheiser; and two sisters, Linda (Mark) Lorden, Sacramento, Calif., and Venita Quamme, Brookings, S.D. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Keith; and one grandson, Derick Olheiser.
