Carl N. “Charlie” Koppinger, 96, New England, died Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Wibaux County Nursing Home, Wibaux, Mont. Charlie’s funeral service will be at 11 a.m., MT Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Pastor Ben Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Cemetery, New England. Military honors will be provided by the New England American Legion Anton Ulijohn Post 66. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Charlie was born August 26, 1924 in New England, the son of Nick and Rose (Martin) Koppinger. He has spent most of his life there, except for the time he served in the military during WW II. He received an early medical discharge as a result of an injury suffered while in training.

Charlie met Mina Combs of Sentinel Butte when she came to work in a beauty shop in New England, they married February 3, 1951. Together they raised four boys; Keyth, Stan, Marty and Wayne. He worked with Farm Service dealers for many years. In 2016 he moved into the Wibaux County Nursing Home until his passing.

He belonged to the New England Fire Department. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time working in the garden.

Charlie is survived by his sons, Keyth (Sharon) Koppinger, Billings, Mont., Stan (Lori) Koppinger, Beach, Marty Koppinger, Englewood, Colo., and Wayne (Bobbie) Koppinger, Bismarck; grandchildren, Matthew (special friend, Heather Temich) Koppinger, Joel (Lindsay) Koppinger, and Danielle (special friend, Josh Ross) Koppinger; great-grandsons, Levi Daniel Koppinger and Lincoln Charles Koppinger; siblings, Vivian (Arnold) Rotering, Fergus Falls, Min., and Harold (Carol) Koppinger, Bismarck; and sisters-in-law, Sylvia Koppinger, Fargo, and Helen Koppinger, New England.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mina in October 2006; his parents; and siblings and in-laws; Robert Koppinger, William (Della Mae) Koppinger, Edward (Fern) Koppinger, Anna Marie (Donald) Wallner, and James Koppinger.
