Caroline Reisenauer, 85, Dickinson died Saturday, January 24, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. Caroline’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.
Caroline Meier was born on January 11, 1924 at Burt, the daughter of George and Margaret (Erhardt) Meier. She was raised and educated in the St. Placidus area where she attended country school.
Caroline married Nick Reisenauer on November 9, 1943 at St. Placidus Catholic Church at Burt. They farmed the Reisenauer farmstead until 1960 when they moved to a farm seven miles east of Dickinson. They retired from farming in the late 1970’s and until the time of her death she had remained on the farm.
Caroline enjoyed working in the garden, playing cards, going fishing, raising farm animals, cooking and especially the time spent with her family.
Caroline is survived by her eight children, Joseph (Bernie Wanner) Reisenauer, Bismarck, Florence (Willie) Kuntz, Dickinson, Margaret (Roger) Boschee, Fargo, Janice (Mac) McDavitt, Fargo, Martin Reisenauer, Dickinson, Richard (Ida Volk) Reisenauer, Bismarck, Vera (Lauren) Gieser, Sidney, NE, and Faith (Todd) Heinle, Mandan; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Emilia Klinner, Mandan. She was preceded in death by her husband Nick on March 3, 2007, her parents, one sister, and four brothers.
