Cecilia Frederick, 103, Richardton, died Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Richardton Health Center. Cecilia’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton, with Fr. Thomas Wordekemper, OSB as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 pm. to 7 pm. Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Bob Zent presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday.

Cecilia Hauck was born July 1, 1913, Richardton, the daughter of John and Christina (Schneider) Hauck. She was raised and educated near Richardton.

Cecilia married John Frederick November 4, 1935 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton. They farmed and raised their family ten miles north of town. In 1966, they retired and moved into Richardton. Her husband John died December 1, 1994. Cecilia at the age of 95 moved from her home to the Evergreen in Dickinson and then spent some time at St. Benedict’s Health Center prior to making the Richardton Health Center her home in September 2016.

She was a lifetime member of Christian Mothers. She enjoyed making quilts, crocheting and sewing. Cecilia’s grandchildren all received some special gift that she had made.

She is survived by five children; Louise Volesky, Dickinson, Frank (Celestine) Frederick, Dickinson, Harold (Peggy) Frederick, New River, Ariz., Gerald (Darlene) Frederick, Richardton, Kathy (Richard) Welk, Killdeer; four daughters-in-law, Kate, Dorothy, Alice & Cheryl; 45 grandchildren; 108 great-grandchildren; 55 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marie Hauck and Helen Hauck; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband John; four sons, Joe, Al, Jacob and Kenneth; five sisters; six brothers; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and son-in-law, Andrew Volesky. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Mary’s Cemetery Beautification Fund.
