Charles Frank Dassinger passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Per Chuck’s wishes private services will be held. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Heart.
Charles “Chuck” Dassinger was born on November 4, 1950, to John and Susie (Lampl) Dassinger. Charles was educated in Lefor and Dickinson, graduating from Dickinson High School in 1970.
Chuck married Edie Metz and to this union one son, Dustin, was born. They later parted ways but remained lifelong friends.
He was employed by Royal Oak, James Vault Company, Dickinson Vault Company, and Baker Boy.
Chuck loved spending time with family, especially his son, daughter-in-law, and three grandsons. He loved watching his grandsons play basketball, football, baseball and taking them fishing. He braved the coldest weather to see his grandsons play football.
He had many hobbies: gardening, going to auction sales, and coin collecting.
Chuck will forever be missed by his son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and Patti Dassinger; grandsons, Hunter, Cayden, and Ty Dassinger; former spouse, Edie (Dennis) Pope; sister, Delores Reisenauer; in-laws, Shirleen Bleth, Dave (Cathy) Metz, Carol (Rod) Merkel, and Greg (Tammy) Metz; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Frank; siblings, John, Alice, and Alvina; and a special brother-in-law, Ron Bleth.
Poppy will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
