Clemence J. Frenzel, 92, Dickinson, died August 6, 2014, at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Clem’s funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Rev. Cal Oraw officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Clemence J. Frenzel was born July 2, 1922, at Dickinson, the son of John and Rose (Miller) Frenzel. He was raised and educated in the Dickinson area, living a the family farm south of Dickinson.

Clem married Martha Splichal on February 8, 1943 at Dickinson. He farmed for a couple of years before opening a shoe and boot repair business. A business that he operated for the next 60 plus years. Clem was united in marriage to Helen (Kuehn) Schott, on December 24, 1970 at Glendive, Mont.

He has had a special interest in music since the age of 8 years old. Playing in many bands through the years both local and out of state. He had his own band in later years and also played with the Elks Sod Buster Band. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, and the German-Hungarian.

Clem is survived by his wife, Helen; six children, John (Wanda) Frenzel, Lebanon, Ore., Sharon (Zach) Wipf, Albany, Ore., Frank (Debbie) Frenzel, Albany, Ore., Jeff (Brenda) Frenzel, Albany, Ore., Charlotte (Ed) Estrada, San Jose, Calif., and Bonnie (Ron) Robideu, Minneapolis, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three step-children; Gary (Bernadette) Schott, Allen (Sue) Schott, Roann (Paddy Horne) Schott; five step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; three sisters; two grandchildren; and one step-son and daughter-in-law, Dan (Jane) Schott.
