Clifford Weigum, 83, Belfield, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at his home. Clifford’s Service of Remembrance will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Interment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Military Honors will be provided by the Dickinson Honors Team. Visitation will be on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Clifford Dean Weigum was born December 12, 1928 at Belfield, the son of Albert and Verna (Schultz) Weigum. He was raised and educated in Belfield. Clifford joined the United States Army on October 18, 1945 and served his country in the honorably until February 13, 1947. Upon returning to North Dakota he began teaching and truly enjoyed the country school education.

He was a man of many talents; carpentry, automotive, gift to gab, and loved to entertain his listeners with endless stories and jokes. He will be known and remembered for the wisdom he passed and shared so freely.

He belonged to the American Legion. He was a master at leather work (especially wallets), he enjoyed crossword puzzles, sudoku puzzles, rug weaving, oil painting, and copper picture rubbings.

Clifford is survived by three children, Sherie (Dale) Johnston, Welaka, Fla., Judy (Alvin) Schaff, Mandan, and Dean (Carol) Weigum, Mandan; three grandchildren, Eli Schaff, Jessica Bosch, and Matt Weigum; six great-grandchildren, Daniel Grenz, Rachel Bosch, Zoe Bosch, Cori Grenz, and Nevaeh and Mason; two brothers, Albert (Carol) Weigum, Spokane, Wash., and Wally (Carol) Weigum, Denver, Colo.; and one sister-in-law, Cheryl Weigum, Belfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Daniel, and Vernon; sister, Evelyn Funk; grandsons, Sam Grenz and Benjamin Grenz; and nephews, Vernon Weigum, Jr., and Forest Weigum.
