Cliffton Homelvig, 86, formerly of Amidon, died Friday, October 12, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Care Center, Bismarck. Cliffton’s funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Lebanon Lutheran Church, Amidon, with Pastor Jacqueline Bloom officiating. Interment will follow at the Lebanon Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the New England American Legion Anton Ulijohn Post 66. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Cliffton E. Homelvig was born March 20, 1932 in Slope County, the son of Sigwart and Eliza (Nicholson) Homelvig. He was raised and educated north of Amidon. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Army from February 26, 1957 to February 25, 1959.

He returned to the home place and continued to farm and ranch until moving to Edgewood Vista in Bismarck on October 16, 2012, and for the past year has been a resident of the St. Vincent’s Care Center.

While living on the ranch, he was an active member of the Amidon community and also Slope County. He enjoyed helping with pancake suppers, activities at the fairgrounds, participating in community plays, and serving on the Township Board.

Cliffton is survived by his brother, Glen (Dee) Homelvig, Bismarck; sister, Shirley Kitzan, Richardton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers; brother, Earl; and sisters, Ruth Kubista, Margie Bohnhoff, and Etta Keller.
